Does the Obama Health-care bill really say I will be expected to end my life as I age?
My sister passed this on:
Page 425 of Health Care Bill - Listen to this interview Fred Thompson's Radio Show interviewing Betsy McCaughey (pronounced Mc Coy). Or look it up on www.fredthompsonshow.com, under interviews.
On page 425 it says in black and white that EVERYONE on Social Security, (will include allSenior Citizens and SSI people) will go to MANDATORY counseling every 5 years to learn and to choose from ways to end your suffering (and your life). < /B>Health care will be denied based on age. 500 Billion will be cut from Seniors healthcare. The only way for that to happen is to drastically cut health care, the oldest and the sickest will be cut first. Paying for your own care will not be an option.
"ON PAGE 425 OF OBAMA’S HEALTH CARE BILL, the Federal Government will require EVERYONE who is on Social Security to under go a counseling session every 5 years with the objective being
that they will explain to them just how to end their own life earlier. Yes...They are going to push SUICIDE to cut medicare spending!"

No. It will make you have those sessions, and given that half a trillion is being cut from already insolvent medicare and the standard for care is being lowered to 'cost effective' treatment, and given the rationing of health care for the elderly in other countries with similar concerns, and the support for such rationing in the writings of those like Emmanuel's brother who have been brought on as experts, it is pretty certain there will be rationing of what care it is 'worth' giving elderly people, however. Obviously, if you aren't able to get quality of life care such as a hip replacement after 75, even if you might otherwise live to be a hundred, when you are faced with end of life decisions, life might well be less worth living, for many.

Fred Thompson should know. He was dead for years before being reanimated in Mary Matalin's secret laboratory.
Counseling on living wills, hospice, etc. is voluntary, available if the patient wants it. Sorry if it offends you, but some people prefer to die peacefully in their own home instead of in a hospital connected to machines. It might be an earlier death, maybe not, but it sure is a lot more comfortable.

I am a retired disabled Detective who was injured on duty and is confined primarily to a wheelchair. As a result I am on Medicare at the age of 60. I can't wait until Obama is old enough to receive his Medicare counseling .

No. But when the end of your life does come, you have the choice of talking with a counselor. I have read the bill, and that is what it says.
