In the song Joey by Sugarland...?

do you think Jennifer Nettles's deliverance of the song doesn't really match the overall theme of the song? The song is about someone that the singer loves dying in a car crash, yet Nettles seems to sing it as if it were a happy song. There really isn't any sadness in her voice at all as she sings this song.

See, SouthernBaptist pretty much made my point for me by not even realizing it was a sad song.

    I totally agree with you! in the music video (which is a live performance) she seems to have a little more emotion. but after awhile she started singing Stay without any sad emotions, maybe its hard to sing a song all the time with lots of emotion within them...

    Oh Thank goodness you cleared that up for me! I didnt know what (other than a guy named joey) the song was about! And i never would have guessed it were sad! So there you go
