Is there a site that has the complete parts breakdown of a Maytag Top Load Washer?
I have this Maytag washer that is driving us insane. During the spin cycle or the rinse cycle the machine vibrates and bangs around violently. It has steadily gotten worse over the past year and no amount of balancing (busted out my level and a plum bob to make sure) is able to fix it. Its not how we load the washer because it will do it empty. Any help would be appreciated.

All wash machines come with a cement block of some configuration attached to the underside to counterbalance heavy loads, however, it must be freed up so it can move around and this is usually done during installation. If you bought this machine and brought it home and didn't release this block then that could very well be your problem, if it was already in the home when you moved in, it still may have been installed improperly. However, if you've used it a while and it used to run fine, and just recently started this behavior, then that's probably not the issue. Sears Parts Direct Commecial website has schematic blow ups of all laundry equipment. You will, however, have to register to become a member of the site. It's spdcommercial.com

PARTSTORE.com is a good one for low prices parts. I think Maytag has a site with manuals if you have the model number. There are springs that hold the tub centered as it agitates and spins. You may have a broken spring or one that has gone bad. Tilt the top of the washer back, and remove the front panel and you can see most everything that makes it work. Also may want to check if all four feet are still in good shape. They are threaded to level the machine and possibly on is stripped?
