Ever walk out on a band in concert because they were too damn loud?

Rush - I like their music, but they were just too ******* loud. Stupid loud. After about 5 minutes of them, I looked at my girlfriend and said, "do you want to get out of here?" and she replied, "hell yes, while I still have some of my hearing left."

The evening wasn't a total waste, though. UFO (the classic line up including Schenker) was the opening act.

Update:

Biohazard9... that's pretty funny. I've been to many, many concerts that had my ears ringing the next day.

Update 2:

Yo' Mike -

"All bands during that night would have played at the same volume and its a concert..."

T'aint so. The top billed act is always louder, always has more real estate on the stage, etc. etc.

Update 3:

claydn_iz - what was that? Speak up!

Get back to me when you get fitted for your 1st pair of hearing aids...

yeah i was at an all day metal fest and all the good bands were on later, it was no readmission and i got there EARLY and had to listen to all the crappy bands make up what they lacked in talent by cranking up the volume to ridiculous levels. i decided to bail at about 4 pm because i just couldnt take the mediocrity and the ear drum shredding volume levels

    No.

But this one band had so much loud bass i got a headache.

I also saw a band that was ridiculously loud but i stuck it out cause they were only playing about 6 songs.

I went home with a muffled deafness and a sqeaky beep for a while, but it was worth it, i really liked them xDD

I don't think i would have walked out unless they really sucked live, my money does not like being wasted (:

You left a concert because the music was too loud???

That's like leaving the beach because the water's too wet. What the hell is wrong with you.

All bands during that night would have played at the same volume and its a concert...the music obviously gonna be loud, and if you cant take it wear earplugs it cuts the low db and high db levels out and increases clarity in the music. and if you cant handle the loudness dont go to shows its simple.

No. If you're at a concert and you can't feel the vibration of the amps in you're throat then the band doesn't deserve to play live. When you leave you should be partially deaf if not you've been gypped.

i have a very similar story to zach's answer. only scratch music fest and put bar with opening acts. also, there was readmission, and i came back for the headliner.

yeah, motorhead. I lasted longer than 5 minutes and I had already seen them before so I didnt really care.

small venue too, it was really too loud to even hear.
