Well, to be a doctor you first need to graduate high school with at least a 3.8GPA and good SATs scores. Then you apply to college. You take the required classes to get into medical school, but you can get a B.A. in anything. Most people get a biology, chemistry, or biochemistry major to get into medical school. Once you finish college, apply to medical school with MCATs. Once you get in you spend 4 years in med school to get your M.D. Then 2-5 years for residency. Then you are on your own as a doctor.

There are some schools in Maine, but the only one I know is University of Maine. It is a good college so I think its a good place to go.

You need a BS. Preferably in something relevant like Biology, but it is not a requirement. You then need to go to Medical School. There are plenty in New England. Then you do at least three years of residency before you can practice medicine. If you want to specialize further you may need another 3-4 years of training.

So, plan for a minimum of 11 years higher ed/training before being able to practice medicine.

  • One is either rich, influential or brilliant.

Then one goes to Grade School.

Then one goes to Junior High School.

Then one goes to High School.

And if your grades were good enough you don't have to hack into the school's computer and change them.

And then you apply for the school of your choice.

Some do go right into medical school.

I really don't know how many by %.
