should i get a ford mustang with automatic transmission or manual transmission?
Well i am thinking of getting a car soon and i have been looking at ford mustangs, and i am not really sure whether i should get one with manual or automatic. I know how to work manual transmission but i don't like it a lot but i heard that automatic transmission mustangs cost more. I need some assistance please. Also, if you can suggest any other cars similar to a mustang that is a good car, please let me know

I have an '06 auto mustang GT V8.
I don't know how to drive stick very well, so went with an auto for convenience (and because I would be driving the car every day). I'd like a manual just for the fun of it, but don't really mind either way. the car is the funnest thing ever.
in terms of how fast the car accelerates in comparison to a manual, its not a big difference (tenths of a second). if it really matters to you, a custom ECU tune can make an automatic car shift faster.
its a matter of what you want to deal with if the car is going to be your everyday car or just a weekend toy.
if you feel like having to pay enough attention to shift a manual every day, do it. but there's really not a point to one unless you really enjoy driving stick, which a lot of people do.
auto GT mustangs (the V8 ones) are harder to find than stick ones, and base V6 stick shift mustangs are harder to find than auto ones.
cars similar to a mustang (but different in price) include the nissan 370/350Z, the mazda rx-8, the chevy camaro, the dodge challenger, and the dodge charger. all of those are generally more expensive than a mustang, some by a lot, some by a little.

The auto trans is $1000 more but you lose a little on gas mileage
26 to 28 mpg. An auto will be faster than a manual because you can't shift as fast, but you'll save on brakes if you downshift with manual.
If you drive in stop and go traffic or go to a lot of ball games where you have to wait in a line of cars you'll definitely want the auto.
auto is much easier to drive.
Mitsubishi Eclipse and Camaro are nice

i would watch out for mustang clutches cause they are not the best and can wear easily depending on the year. But if you don't like manual transmission why would you buy one. You can find an automatic for the same price if you look enough.

If you're looking to drive a fast sports car, a lot of people would recommend you getting the manual transmission. It gives you better control of the car.
If you're just getting the car to show off to girls or whatever, just get an automatic. Keep in mind that if you get manual transmission, you're going to have to be alert whenever you drive (especially on hills). You'll be driving with 2 arms and both your legs.

It will fit, but it will not be a straight swap. That is a idea anyway because the manual transmission out of the V6 cannot handle the torque produced by the V8. More importantly, you would have to change the on board computer on the car to recognize the manual transmission.

First off you get props for picking a American made car. This country needs more people like you. Yes they charge more for a auto trans but, the real question is do you feel like shifting many times in a traffic jam or just letting off your brakes. Standard trans is more work. Make your life easier and get the auto.

The auto transmission in the mustang is a workhorse.
