How can I change my public school county system?

I go to a public school in Palm Beach ,Florida, and over the past two years the system has had so many cuts on the school, and others around the county. I only ask because I got a grade that I don't think is fair, in one of my classes, just because I couldn't copy 500 vocab words from a book in two days. We only had a classroom set, and the online book server always crashed because so many students got on it, and I just don't know what to do. I want something to change. Or does anyone have any , ANY advice?

Okay the thing is you can't really change it. Just because you got a bad grade or think you didn't deserve that doesn't mean you can go and change something. If you could, then wouldn't someone else have done it already? You aren't the only one and the budget cuts are hurting everybody.

What you can do it try to talk to your teacher about the vocab words and maybe he/she will extend it. If you want something good for the school, fund raise! Don't expect the government to give out extra money for new books when the old books are perfectly fine. If the school had money they would buy more vocabulary books but sorry that won't be happening. We're in a recession, so just hang on tight and do the best you can. Everyone is trying to cope and it isn't easy for everyone.

Schools have changed quite a bit in the last 60 years. Many schools were still segregated, science education has improved, and teaching methods have improved from lecture only to more hands on work. Many schools and faculty are behind on new practices and methods out there but they are trying to change for the better. However the lack of funding makes change a slow process.

There's nothing you can do, unless your family is rich and willing to donate lots and lots and lots of money to the entire school system (not just your school) in an attempt to remedy the several-million-dollar budget shortfalls.

So, in short: learn to deal.
