How do I connect a wireless XBox controller to my PC?
Hi; I just bought a wireless XBox controller because at the Microsoft's website I read that I can use it with a PC.
The kit I've got comes with a rechargeable battery and a USB cable, but I can't get the controller paired with my PC neither by Bluetooth and don't even with the USB cable.
I've searched in the Microsoft hardware support and says nothing about. In the details page of the product, also says nothing, just says "For PC and Xbox 360":

What's the problem?.
Thank you very much in advance.

With a Wireless Xbox 360 Controller, you need to use a Wireless Adapter for PC. Look at the source to purchase one. Just press the sync button on your controller and the device and it connects. Works with Guitar Hero controllers, too.

As stated above, you need to buy the wireless controller adapter for the computer. The USB cord in the kit you purchased only allows the controller to be charged and will not be recognized by Windows for play.
Contrary to what Taylor said though, you can plug a wired controller into Windows and it will instantly be recognized. I have been using my wired controller on my PC since not long after the 360 was originally released.

I've used a wired Xbox controller on my PC for a couple of years. But the wireless one requires a special adapter to be used with Windows. Microsoft sells the Xbox controller as a kit for Windows with the receiver adapter, but it runs about $60. I don't know if you can buy the receiver by itself though...
EDIT: Here it is on Amazon.

you cant do it...microsoft are idiots. you cant do it with wireless or wired Xbox 360 controllers, without special adapters which i assume cost as much if not more than, a normal xbox 360 controller. i have personally tried it with a wired xbox 360 controller, and it doesnt work.
