Surfing in staying in Bali?
Hey all,
So I am taking a semester in Thailand at the moment, but since my exams all finish at the beginning of December I have a whole month to do whatever. My plan is to fly to Bali and spend a week or two there before I head home. I am not looking for any heavy waves or anything just something beginner to intermediate fun waves, like stomach to head high about that I can short board or longboard. I have come across a place called Kuta which seems to have what I want. So is this a good place to go, some where better? And also can anyone recommend a good place to stay thats close to good surfing that isnt expensive. Thanks!

Yeah Kuta is surf central in Bali and not too expensive. When you get there talk to some locals and ask them about the North Coast of Bali, its a hidden gem and good surf. Another option is nearby Lombok which is less developed. Both those places are cheaper than Kuta and away from the crowds of rowdy drunk Aussies, Brits, and New Zealanders.
Travelwise Bali is cheap to get there and once you are there you can hop on a ferry to Lombok dirt cheap.

Yeah, Kuta has the most wave for surfing in Bali. Find a place to stay in Kuta area, for cheaper option, find some along Poppies Lane 1. just a few minutes walk and you are at the most happening beach stretch for surfers already.
