Which is better, Xbox 360 or PS3?

Base your answer on which one is better quality, which one costs less, which one has less expensive games, and which one has better games, NOT based on if you have it or not! That's just DUMB!

For me personally (Yes, I have both) I have to go with the 360. Better price, better online performance, and a much bigger selection of games.

With my PS3 I haven't been all that impressed. The graphics in most multiplatform games are actually better on 360. But the PS3 does have a Blu-Ray player. (Which is it's primary function in my house) But I didn't buy the system to watch movies (I didn't really buy it at all, my wife got it for me as a gift)

The price of games for both systems are the same. new titles (regular editions) are usually $59.99 No titles (at time of release) have different prices.

PS3 coming up has 2 important titles that I want. Mod Nation Racers, and Uncharted 2.

360 has Splinter Cell Conviction, Modern Warfare 2 (because of the multiplayer with XBL) Forza 3, 1 vs 100 (Because you can win actual real life prizes, and it's totally free to Xbox Live Gold members) HALO: ODST, Shadow Complex, Alan Wake.

Also, the 360 controller feels so much more comfortable.the PS3 controller feels too small for me. And not only does the Dual shock 3 controller (Rumble support for PS3) has to be purchased separately, but also HD cables. so you're stuck with Low Def graphics if you don't buy some cables when you buy the PS3 itself. (The Hi Definition of Blu-Ray is such a big seller, why wouldn't they include a Hi Def cable?)

Well its really all preference.... oh and btw you are going to get alot of fanboys here so there may be some fighting.

First lets look at game lineup that is already out and coming out

    Xbox 360

    Halo series

    Gears series

    Mass effect series

    Forza series

    Alan Wake

    PS3

    God of War series

    Uncharted series

    Ratchet and Clank Series

    MGS4

    Resistance series

    Gran Turismo series

    Killzone 2

    MLB the Show series

These are just the main upcoming games and series. I know there are alot more than I listed but these are more or less the heavy weights in game vs game discussion. In my opinion Ps3 wins in the game department

Now there are many downloadable games off of the playstation store or Xbox 360. And they are pretty much matched in that department, except that PS3 is getting alot of xbox exclusives like castle crashers and Braid

    Now Price

Xbox Pro is $300 while PS3 is $400....

But Xbox has many hidden fees such as live is $50, wireless internet is $80. But comes with a mic unlike ps3.

PS3 is also a Blu-Ray player which is around $150 itself so if movies are your thing then that's a big plus.

    Internet

Xbox 360 uses live which is $50 a year, some places have $40 cards and has a bigger user base, but you do get some whining children, but its funner that way =p. Also there is crossgame chat and much more features

PS3's PSN is free, and while not as big as a userbase and not everyone has mics. But it is lag free and very stable, every game has dedicated servers so your ps3 isnt the server like Xbox. A wide misconception is that PSN is laggy and cheap because its free but its not. PS3 also has Playstation Home where you make an avatar meet up with friends and bowl, play pool, play arcade games and whatnot.

Both have their own achievement systems, ps3 has trophies xbox has the point system

Now quality is hard to explain. Xbox's are notorious for breaking alot, they break much more than PS3s but if you have a warranty you will have no problem.

So it all comes down to your own preferences. Take a peak at the games online and see which ones you would have a funner time playing. In the end, either one you pick you will have fun. Even though my own opinion, owning both, is that PS3 is better, but alot of my friends don't have it and have xboxes and its more enjoyable with friends. Weigh the pros and cons and make your own decision.

i could say the PS3 is greater effective because of the fact the Xbox only nickel and dimes you for each little element the PS3 has out of the container. i won't be able to incredibly talk for Xbox on line because of the fact i do no longer prefer to pay an extra $a hundred for what a PS3 can already do.
