Being in the same boat as you at one point, I can say that Apple computers (to the sellers) rarely degenerate in value dramatically. You can always looked into refurbished Apple computers (but you'll run the risk of it being previously owned and possibly malfunctioning) via the Apple store. However, if you're looking for a new Apple MacBook for any less than the MSRP you can hope for eBay or a craigslist listing. If that doesn't work though (which is very likely) you'll have to settle with used on eBay/craigslist/any of those other auction-like sites. Apple's are pricey and hard to come by for cheap.
