Really why are you against it.......?

If all the lies have been debunked, if you know you can keep your doctor, if your covered and it won;t affect your coverage, if granny won't be put out to pasture. If the bill that you have read is not the finalized bill... then why are so many REALLY against universal healthcare... Is it the same people that are against funding public schools, but would pay extra taxes for a new jail???? Is it really unpatriotic, unconstitutional to offer healthcare (affordable)I mean people your taxes pay to cover congressmen, senators etc... you mean to tell me you don't care about covering them, but can;t fathom the idea of covering your neighbor, friend, bag boy....

Really why are you against it?

Update:

I am supporting because I will loose my healthcare in about 28 days I cannot afford COBRA, 823 a month for myself and daughter, because I having worked in healthcare for over 10 years understand that those of you that think your covered are under the mercy of your insurance companies and don;t realize it, I support it because I am willing to help my fellow man when he/she is down.

Update 2:

@ jd man I worked for a for-profit hospice that competed with a not-for profit so its possible

    CNN Poll today:

"Do you feel well informed about the health care plans in congress?

Yes, I'm on top of it. 25% 21064

    No, I'm confused. 75% 62150

    Total Votes: 83214"

That's great for the Republicans. They make people feel confused and make it appear as if the Democrats are rushing with health care then people trust them more.

It's cute how CNN just throws it out there. It's their job to INFORM people!

I like my insurance I have now and I believe their goal is a single payer system. How can you have a non-profit company competing with for-profit companies. Imagine if I put a non-profit Wal-Mart next to yours, which one would you shop at? I don't care about the end of life rumors or the payments for abortions, neither pertain to me whether true or false. I care about having options and I don't care what anybody says, this will drive insurance companies under. It is too much to soon, they need to start small and fix problems in the current system, tort reform. We in Tennessee have TennCare, which is run through medicaid. You apply for it like you do food stamps or welfare, based on income. If ALL the states don't have a similar system then let's start there. Single moms can get TennCare just by putting their names on it, but for non-parents it is a little more difficult, but very possible. I agree that we may need reform, but a complete overhaul scares me. I consider myself pretty smart but I know that I would not be able to do all the things they keep saying they'll be able to do. Like run a non-profit company competitively.

No, the lies have NOT been debunked.

Sure, if you're covered now, you can keep your coverage...until you change jobs (page 16 of HR3200...read it). Then, you will NOT have a choice of what insurance you purchase, because it will be illegal for private insurers to write you a new policy, which denies me my freedom of choice to shop around for a better deal.

Personally, I am also against public education; it is ineffective, wastes money, protects ineffective workers, and promotes indoctrination. Education is not a right in my opinion; it is a parental responsibility.

If my neighbor, friend, or bag boy wants to have the same help that I get from my church on medical issues, I will happily help them.

This is nothing more than a power grab by the government, and I resist it as I have all others in my life.

I don't live in your country - however the

haste by the people in power of passing that legislation set off alarm bells

Never forget that those people voted into power are there to serve the constituents. if you want to help your fellow man, you can do it by urging them to be fully informed, have ALL the facts, and make informed judgements . My mother is 81, fled a communist regime .....she sees a lot of similarity in the systematic " government run " of a democratic system

in America today -thankfully you have the freedom of choice.....please don't lose

    it!

Source(s): I'm worried - I'm Australian and we have a leader hell-bent on following the Obama model!

Why are you supporting it? Have you read any of it or do you just believe what the liberal media tells you?

I'm glad you mentioned public schools-have you been in one lately or talked to any public school students? See how they are run and the lack of quality in this education system?

Do you really feel comfortable with the government completely controlling your health care and possibly your life?

just a few notes for you to ponder but I suggest reading this proposed bill before you support it.

Cos a lot of Americans see 'socialism', and any social ideas, as the root of all evil. Don't ask me how that happened but we Brits think you're all mad for not jumping at this oportunity

If the government can negotiate all this ... why can't he negotiate it to be applied to the existing health care system??????????????????

why then the need to create a "government" held program?????? don;t you think that it sounds and looks fishy?

    Why spend the 1.4 trillion?
