Does the asker gets points if his question which was in voting gets resolved?

    Unfortunately, yes, at least sometimes.

    According to the Yahoo! FAQs, if the community selects a best answer, you should not get any points awarded, BUT...intermittently, people have reported that they are indeed being awarded points when they are not choosing the best answer themselves. This has been an ongoing glitch for a couple of *years*.
