Insurance Help Needed? Turning 65 in Oct and am swamped with ads for medicare supplemental insurances!?

Several arrive in the mail every day! I have given up and just throw them off in a corner without even opening them, any more!

Is there a website or some other source that can give me a workable comparison of them ALL in one place? This is really driving me crazy!

In the back of the Medicare booklet there is a list of free or inexpensive supplemental policies available in your area. If none apply to you then I suggest you use the medical insurance company you now have. You should call and ask. The alternative is to ask your primary care doctor what company he accepts and has the least problems dealing with. We did the carry over from current policy to supplemental medicare. Also use that company for Prescription Part D. I find less hassle dealing with one company

Are you still working or is your spouse still working? Medicare will not be your primary insurance until you retire first of all. If you have retired you can look into a Medicare supplement to cover you deductibles for Medicare or you can go for a Medicare replacement policy all together. Hope this helps some?

1st off go to the AARP website. They specifically have a section just on medicare which includes supplemental insurance.

they have probably a dozen articles explaining how all works and a comparison of each plan plus definition's etc.

    good luck
