I am a die-hard Yankee fan and absolutely despised that man in '03 and '04. Since then, I have learned the mistakes of my ways and recognized how much of an honor it is to watch him pitch. Was glued to the tv today. I was like...PEDRO'S BACK!! The game is just better when you know Pedro Martinez is pitching in it. His curveball was great. He was hitting almost all of his spots, and his velocity was fantastic. He made a few mistakes, but overall, a great start against a great line-up.

If they make the playoffs, they will need him. Even if he pitches out of the bullpen an inning or two, he will be a vital component of their postseason run. I think it's important that he pitches some during the regular season against major league hitters. Minor league rehab starts are nice but if you want a big time pitcher ready for the playoffs, you gotta throw him to the wolves. The Mets are just being super cautious with Pedro and not rushing him back. He will pitch again this year and my guess would be by mid-Septemeber he takes the mound whether starting or coming out of the bullpen.

It's nice to see some of that old Pedro swagger up on the mound. I watched enough to see he has come back with some stuff, striking guys out and hitting the low nineties. The breaking stuff bit hard.

I hope he can string together a few starts like that one. I'm not a Phillies fan but he's fun to watch when he's on.

Pedro pitched a good game for the phils.

Glad to see that hes in the mlb for at least one more year.

fans in boston love him cause he was their ace back in 2004.

He should be grateful that all oter 31 teams passed on him so he could sign in philly.

    GO PHILLIES

Ya he looked a million times better than I expected. He had a sharp curveball and his fastball velocity was back to 88-92 range, something totally unexpected. I actually liked what I saw ( And I am not a fan of either team).

ditto, Anyone one on the 2004 team ( except Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez) is a Boston hero. I hope he'll go to the hall of fame as a Red Sock.
