Do the personalities in a person with Multiple Personality Disorder remember?

I know the actual person doesn't remember what happens while another personality "takes over", but will the personality remember and know what the actual person does?

Short answer... Yes they can! But whether or not they do...

Remember this: They all share the same physical brain. The segregation of memories has a lot to do with how much control the personality has and how that personality chooses to deal with the emotions and situations he/she is a part of.

Just like the "actual person" the personalities can "go to sleep" and there fore not remember that part of the day. However they can "fill each other in" (yes they can speak to each other) It all has to do with the emotional maturity of each personality and the willingness to deal with certain events in life.

It may take years or just never happen, but it IS possible for them to converge thier experiences.

    I hope this helped.

Yes, some personalities that are more "whole", do have memories. Some of them are not exactly true ones, but they do. Most personalities are smaller fragments in a way. Some never speak.
