Blue is my favorite color and this is a color that I normally don't wear....so it would be something different and special for my wedding day.

That is a tradition set up by man. It's got nothing to do with the Bible. It's NOT a sin to wear white on your wedding day if you aren't a virgin. The price of the dress IS! But it's a little silly to wear white if you are a known hooch. Try blue or pink or heck, if you are that much of a party girl red!! LOL Plain and simple, men made it up as they did with the virgin thing. See way back when, women were nothing more than livestock to sell and trade and how they did that was through marriage. Kings married off their daughters to the highest bidder or to a potential enemy. Love had nothing to do with it. The main reason a woman had to be a virgin when she married was because there was no paternity testing back then and in order to insure that when her owner/husband got her pregnant the baby was really his. She could have been screwing around before the wedding, gotten pregnant and married a king. The he'd take her and have no way of knowing if the child was his or not. the other reason, guys like to be the first and for ages we women were denied pleasure in the bedroom. In fact until about 100 years ago, no one believed that women could even climax! That's because the men never cared enough to try to get their wives off. It was unladylike! AND if she didn't know any better she wouldn't be expecting good sex. So the men didn't even have to perform well, only for themselves. White came into fashion during the Victorian era (late 1800's) when Queen Victoria married Albert. Theirs was a love match. When Albert died, many years later, the heartbroken Victoria wore black mourning clothes every day until her own death and so did everyone else. Manufacturers even made black jewelry! It was the fashion because that how the Queen dressed. She was a fashion trend setter. The white wedding dress stuck and became the symbol of purity (virginity) women were still a commodity amongst the wealthy and royalty. The bride wearing white on your wedding day was yet another proof that your heir, in 9 months, was really yours. Relax your worries have NOTHING to do with the Bible but of man's inadequacies. HAPPY WEDDING!!! :)

  • My favourite colour is red.

But light pink would probably be a more suitable colour for such an occasion.

    Red would be too flaming.

Light pink would transmit more lovely feelings.

By the way, I don't think all brides look beautiful in white.

I went through a gothic stage of my life and at the time i planned my wedding dress (not that i even had a bf) to be black with dark purple and maroon entwined through it all... the idea has stuck with me and i still imagine a beautiful black wedding dress

I saw a beautiful green one on Oprah for a garden wedding. Or there are some beautiful coloured ones for a beach wedding.

Assuming that cream and off white are out as well, I'd choose red.

    Bluish-green. Yay.

    Good question,

umm...Maybe a light purple or light red. Depends on the shade.

  • Depends on what dress looks the best on. Maybe blue..so hard to decide. But blue seems nice.

Glad I didn't have to worry about such dilemmas.
