Well you can but you need a lot of plants. It needs to be well stocked with plants.

You have a lot of options.

If you want a Betta you can get a Betta and 4-5 Corydoras.

You can get guppies, platies, mollies swordfish.

You can get dwarf gouramis, cloud fish, Tetra's etc.

You have a lot of options.

All these fish can be mixed but guppies with Betta's because they are to similar in look from a Betta's point of view.

Most male bettas do fine in 10 gallon tanks with other peaceful fish. A 4 gallon tank would be good to. I'd avoid tankmates like teras, and barbs who tend to nip fins. Avoid fish with long flowy fins like fancy guppies. You should get the other fish 1st then put in the male as he'll be less territorial being put into a new tank with fish than having fish put into HIS tank. Males and females should be kept separate other than briefly for breeding. Females are pretty aggressive with other females too. So I'd advise not putting more than betta in a 10 gallon tank. In a large tank with lots of cover you can easily put 1 per 10 gallons, but there will be a lot of fighting, and fin damage initially. Just remember bettas aren't people. Bettas like being alone.

You can put four female bettas in a ten gallon no problem, as long as you buy them together. If they're separated to begin with, they may not be compatible. They have to grow up in a community tank to be able to put up with each other.

Yes, that could work, but this is what I have...

    -1 dwarf gourami

    -5 panda corys

    -2 otto cats

And it should be lovely, once I get all my fish! haha
