Leonids 2009 - visible from Europe?

OK, we've just had the Perseid shower, but the Leonids are due up in mid-November and I was wondering how well visible they'll be from Europe (specifically the UK)?

Any ideas out there?

Yes. Meteor showers are visible world-wide, especially when the radiant is visible from where you are, and even when it isn't. The debris stream left behind by a comet is wider than the Earth. Earth entered the comet Swift-Tuttle trail on July 31 and will be in the debris tail for another two weeks. There are just more meteors impacting the atmosphere around the peaks of meteor showers.

Yes, you will see them. I will state the obvious though and mention that it depends on the cloud coverage!

Saw them on November 17th in the early hours of the morning last year here in Ireland. It was one of those crisp cold nights that just magnify the stars so brilliantly and no clouds at all. It was amazing, a photograph would not decribe what I saw that night, you will see them from the UK no bother. Just remember to wrap up as warm as you can...a flask of hot tea is a must have too!!!
