Wondering if this is normal?

Most times when i get my period, I feel so sick. I don't throw up or anything, I just feel sick and always have to lay down. It's not too intense, I can still function but other times it can make me feel very sick. Soon as it's over, I don't feel sick anymore, and I feel normal again. Is this normal? Should I see a Doctor?

Update:

just a little cramping sometimes but i usually dont cramp at all

I think it's pretty normal, at least for me. My mom and I get sick whenever we're on our periods, and we experience PMS symptoms pretty intensely. Periods aren't supposed to be a walk in the park. Just rest and get some midol or cold/flu medicine, no need to visit the doctor.
