What type of lizard is this (pic)?
I found 2 of these in my yard. My cat killed one and the other is still in my tree. Here is the picture:

I figured it was a baby iguana since it has a really long thin tail and sharp fingers/toes. Iguana's run rampant in my neighborhood, you can go to the bank and find atleast 10 in the parking lot and we've had to fish 2 of our neighbors full grown iguanas out of our pool before. I've never seen baby igunanas though, so I am not sure.
I also want to know what you think I should do about the lizard. I dont want my cat to kill this one, too. :(

That's a Cuban Knight Anole, they are an introduced species in Florida.
It is harmless to you so if you just took a broom and frightened it off that should take care of it. From a ecological standpoint your cat is doing a good thing since this is a species that does not belong in that ecosystem but I would not want to see it killed either!

They are green anoles. Or some sort of anole.
They are common in tropical areas, and many keep them as pets from the pet store.

You should leave them where they are, their natural home, or if you wanted to keep them (highly unrecommended) look up care sheets. The last link will help you with that. As for the cat, i am not so sure what you could do to keep him away. Maybe spray him with cold water? =]
Good luck!!

it is not a iguana for sure baby ones look exactly like the adults only smaller but this surely is not one. as for the cat keep it in the house for a while wait and see if it goes away if not then u can try to move it to the park or something but only if it can be done safely.

kitty can't kill what they can't find.
its camouflage is reall good, and so just keep it up in the trees.
