Is it ok to send a letter with a 42 cent stamp?

yes and no, if you need 44 cent worth of postage you would have to use 2 42 cents stamps. you can over pay but not under pay or they will mark it return to sender for lack of postage .

if its not a business letter, just put the receivers address in the senders address and dont put postage on it. theyll return it to sender, so youll have sent the mail for free.
