Questions about the iPhone. :)?
Okay, so I've ordered an iPhone 3G from the USA from my friend, and she'll be returning in a few days. I'm living in Egypt, btw.
So i know I'll have to unlock it and stuff for it to work here, but I mean just how complicated is it? If I want to put my vodafone sim card in it will it work? Also, how the hell do you put the sim card in? Cause I mean, its so thin and stuff, and idk where the slot and stuff is.
And is it necessary for me to jailbreak it? Cause I just wanna use some apps off the iTunes App Store like Facebook app, Skype, Yahoo messenger, etc. Is it really worth jailbreaking?
And whats this Cydia thing I keep hearing about? Will I need it? And how do I get it if so?
Anyways, my main question i need an answer for is about the sim card thing.
And please NO stupid answers, I need informative answers alright? No crap, honestly. Thanks everyone. =)
Oh and does it come with a charger and everything? xD Im asking cause it seems on the net people are fussing abt how iphone is missing alot of things, so i just wanted to be sure. lol.

I don't have an iPhone so I wouldn't know how to insert a SIM card, however I do understand the unlocking/jailbreaking process because it's similar to the iPod touch minus the unlocking. In order to unlock your iPhone you'll need to jailbreak it. It's not an overly complex process and very simple. Jailbreaking still allows you to use apps from the app store. Cydia is an app that functions similarly to the iPhones app store and has some apps, but it also has tweak and themes which help make your iPhone even more unique. So jailbreaking is really worth it. Anyone who says its dangerous there either lieing to you or have never tried it themselves because nothing can go wrong with it and break your iPhone. And even in the extremely unlikely case it does its very simple and easy to fix.

yea it shoud come with everying. the sim crd goes in the top. you get a pin an put it ina little hole an pull out the sim card holder put the sim card in an push it back in the top of iphone. its not that complicated.
jailbreaking the iphone isnt neccesary but it is good. it lets you put themes on and change things u couldnt normally change. cydia is a 'other' app stoere that gives you apps like ultrasn0w which unlocks the iphone asweell as games. cydia is good but you dont need it. you will get it whjen you jailbreal your iphone if you choose to.
