If Jordan retired with no championships would he be the GOAT?

All this talk about rings and stats got me thinking if MJ never one a ring how would you feel about him? He still has the stats just no rings.

And who would be the GOAT if he didnt win anything. (if you think he is since many people do)

no. but its not the rings necessarily as it was the way he dominated. before and after retirement. esp. after. leading an "Old" (celtics old???) team to 72-10. with his only sidekick an all star in pippen(who didnt dominate like Kobe or Shaq did). Dominating the way GOAT did you gotta win one. but then you not satisfied with one. so you win two. then you ooooh maybe i can win 3. and then u get there and dont lose. So because of that he's on that pedestal alone.

another reason hes the GOAT??? not because he couldve won 7 or more, not because everybody wants to be him, no, he actually QUIT b-ball to pick up a bat and golf club just because he got tired of winning. then had a revelation and came back wearing the 4-5.

if what you are trying to ask is if LBJ in 14 years(yes he is only 24) leaves the game and doesnt have any rings be the GOAT? HELL NO.

He would just be among the many great players that never won a ring, ex Reggie Miller, John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Charles Barkley. He would not be the Greatest of all Time by any standards, those 6 championships coupled with his season accomplishments defined his career and title as the greatest of all time. The other guys just had season stats, which mean nothing when the real season begins.

He wont be because winning rings makes u a great player especially when you are the one making a difference for a team to get the championship. Winning a championship would be like getting everything you wanted just about =/. Makes you feel like your the best and a champion. If u cant say or think you would or are going to be a champ then your just someone that will not achieve it

No. To be the goat you have to have to at least have 3 or 4 rings

you cannot be the GOAT without the championships. Michael Jordan woudln't be where he is today without any of those rings.

I doesn't matter, because he did win championships. He's the Babe Ruth of basketball. People will still be talking about him 100 yrs from now.

  • Of course not. The GOAT would be Magic Johnson.

Well no. But he will be talked about a lot like Reggie Miller. Even though he has no rings, he has great clutch performances

Rings, or no rings .....Jordan is not even close to being the GOAT.

He IS, without a doubt, the MOAT (Most Overrated of All Time)

    Hope this helps

    obviously not.

I don't know how else to answer.

If Barkley or malone won 6 rings instead of MJ would they be the GOAT?
