what engine does a mid 1980's nissan truck have?
i have a 1984 or it might be 1986 nissan truck 2 wheel drive and i was wondering what size is the engine and whats the max horsepower

That motor was called the NAP Z 2.4 liter 8 valve overhead cam with 8 spark plugs around 120 hp. Back in the 80's gasoline was not very good and emission controls sucked out any real power restrictive exhaust too. So if you got 80 horsepower from the wheels your truck is running better than most.

I had one years ago and don't remember the correct name for it, but the valve cover had a "Z" on it. It was a 4 banger with 2 spark plugs per cylinder. Good on gas and lots of zip, but I dont recall the specs on it at all. Happy motoring.
