Looking to put a BB in my chevelle. I'm not trying to lose an arm and a legg so i will be junk yard shopping.
what year chevy p/u trucks have the BB with mech fuel pump. should i be concerned with tall deck BB's. I'm planning on a complete engine so i can reuse all the stock brackets and pullies if possible thanks guys. not concerned with the peanut heads, i will be using after market. i plan on using an M22 muncie( if i can find one)

Yeah, about mid-'80's were the last of the mechanical fuel pumps, used with carburetors. Anything fuel injected will have an electric pump. Unless you get one from a Blue Bird bus, 1995. LOL
Not sure what you mean by "tall deck BB's". All 454's are the same deck height. Chrysler did that with their 383/440, and Ford with the 302/351 Windsor, and the 351C/351M/400, but Chevy never did that with their stock pickup truck V8's.
As far as the accessory brackets and stuff, it is a good idea to get as complete an engine as possible, as they will be different for the most part at least, from a small block. Also a good idea to get some of the wiring and such to splice in if the old stuff is too short too reach.

well its 80's for the mechanical fuel pumps uhh I want to say pre 84 because thats how it is on the camaro's but theres a drawl back if you have to do emissions you have to get intake with an EGR and all that crap, or just buy you sticker under the table like me,
