Where did the word segregation come from?

    Segregation does not only apply to blacks and whites during the civil war era.

    The root of the word segregation is GREG, meaning Group, Crowd, or Troof.

    The prefix se- means aside, or apart from.

    And the suffix -tion is the action of.

    So the word together means 'separation from a group'.

    It probably was meant forever, but it hasn't lasted forever, because people became more radical about peace, therefore setting into motion new ideas and protests about equality.
