what are my chances in learning french?
In two weeks i will be a senior in an american international school(private). I've been in it since KG..and as you may have guesed by now i wod be fluent in english...
ive taken french courses maybe 4-5 times, and each course is the same, where we learn basic french. However now i cant remember everything.
I am intending to study Law School in France, and as you know all the studying would be in french. I could change one subject next year for Intensive French course, and i can get help from a touter. The requiremnt in my country for scholarship is to have at leat 75% in a french course in high school.
I can take the course, possibly pass it and once i enroll law school i can take prepatory course in french...
but what do you think my chances are? My country only provides the scholarship to France in Law major because our law is basically derived from the french law.
Please suggest what should i do? i mean i can study law in my country, but i want to be a bit unique and challenging.
please help!!:D
P.S- im Arabic and from the middle east:D

So, you're saying that you have a year to learn French? I think it is certainly possible to do. The intensive class and the tutor sound like a good start. You also want to make sure that you practice speaking and listening as much as possible outside of class. See if you can find a conversation partner, watch French movies, listen to French music, find a streaming radio station in French.
Don't worry about making mistakes when you are talking! You will make mistakes at first, but the most important thing is to practice so that you can get better at communicating.
I am also using a very good audio book right now, from the Pimsleur series. I got the first one for free through Audible.com, and I am really enjoying it.
There are also some very good websites where you can find a conversation partner in French, or any other language you're trying to learn.
Good luck to you!

Well I don't see why you couldn't pass a french intensive course. I am sure if you work hard you will pass it with no problem.
I study in France, I am american, started learning french when i was 15, now 26. It was the past 3 yrs in france that made me fluent, nothing before then. Though I do think an intensive course would be good, though you will see that once you are here the rest will come along as time passes. You ask in the beginning for other people's notes as to not fall behind. or record the class to listen again later.
bonne chance!

You have a chance to learn. You seem smart considering the fact that you already know 2 languages. Try your best if you really want to go to Law School in France. Its a hard language to learn but of course Arabic is much harder. To remember French try to constantly speak it. You should learn it. It is good to have a challenge.
