Volleyball Tryouts and what to wear?

Do you have to wear Spandex to tryouts? Or can you just wear shorts than when you need them for games you wear them. Also do i need knee pads for tryouts or for later when i actually make the team and have real practices? And any other advice or tips for High School Volleyball tryouts?

okay most people wear spandex to tryouts but its not mandatory. you should be able to wear what ur comfortable in to tryouts. i know that some teams wear spandex as their uniform but my school doesnt. just wear soccer shorts or basketball shorts..whatever u feel good in but dont make it too baggy. yes, u do need knee pads at tryouts and games. i prefer the asics brand for beginners and try to get black bcuz u cant see all the dirt marks with black.

tips: be outgoing. don't blame teammates if they miss the ball, instead, encourage every1 by saying, "that's alright girls! we'll get the next ball!" and then get the next ball.

u also need to be seriouss but not too much!

just remember all that u need to know and use ur knowledge: bump, pass, set, overhand serve, spike, rotations, poositions, ready stance, digging, etc.

remember this play: BUMP, SET, SPIKE!!!!

u sound like u know wat ur doing!!!! tryout nervousness: calm urself by saying ,"i can make it! i can do everything i need to know! yes, i can!" take deep breaths and just practice but dont overwork urself and try to distract urself when u cant stop thinking about tryouts. ( I try to write a book when im stress about volleyball tryouts and im on page 37!!!!) sometimes reassurance is all it takes. good luck!!

You don't have to have spandex to tryout but you should totally have knee pads. The first time I played in a volleyball game I didn't have knee pads so when it came down to get the ball and I skinned up my knees bad. Think of if you had to do that just to get on the team. Good luck I have my tryouts in a week and am as nervous as can be.

You don't have to wear spandex if you don't have them to try out. That's not really a big deal. You probably should have some kneepads, but they're not completely necessary if you don't want to pay money for them if you think you may not make the team. At tryouts, just make sure that you are loud, and you call the ball whenever you touch it. It will make a good first impression. Don't be afraid to dive on the floor and hustle wherever you go!

Get knee pads even if you don't make the team this year your going to want them next year if you tryout.:]

You don't HAVE to wear spandex I usually wear shorts and save my spandex for my games. :]

For high school Volleyball tryouts you really just need to show them your natural talent..:]]

    Good luck.:]

You don't have to wear spandex if you don't feel comfortable or just don't have them. I would suggest you to wear knee pads because some of the drills (depending on the coach) will require you to slide. Plus, when you are actually playing, it will be helpful to have knee pads just in case you need to slide to get a ball. Some tips are just be yourself. Don't be snobby if you understand something more that the others because that pisses other people off. Just do your thing, mingle with the other girls because that shows the coach that you are a team player. Good Luck!!

spandex is best but not necessary. and i would totally have knee pads otherwise you might be afraid to dive in fear with hurting your knees and then the coaches might think that you are not fearless lol. just be prepared.

i have tryouts tomorrow too! im super nervous.

    good luck.

Show up looking like your ready to play. First impressions are everything a player who comes looking professional will have a better chance than someone who shows up in a tight shirt and jeans.
