http://www.baumanrarebooks.com/ is the best online source to learn about and to contact re: collectible, rare books.
I've used them often.
At the middle of the top bar, it would be good to read 'About Collectibles' to know what you want to ask specifically re: what makes a book worth more.
Then use one or both of these methods also available on that homepage -
"Contact Us" at upper right, or a toll-free US phone number (scroll down a touch) at lower right.
Collectibles (yours sound good, if...) should be in mint condition and kept from handling, air, dust and light (all damaging) -and while 1st editions are very nice, a 1st/1st is even better- meaning not only a 1st edition but also a 1st printing.
You can see if your books are 1st/1sts by looking at the last number in the line of 10 numbers on the publication page -a '1' there means it's a first printing as well- a good thing to know re: pricing for collectors.
Give Baumans' a spin.
Nice people there and always interested in rare books.
ADD: To encourage you, esp if your books are in great condition, they sure sound interesting to me... End ADD
