Why is it when you drive down a street anyone who is outside stops what they are doing and watches you pass?

I had guy up on a ladder painting his house turn around and watch me.

For you to notice that the guy on the ladder was watching you, you had to look at him, right? I have this somewhat crazy theory, and science paints a foggy picture about it. So bear with me.

I think every human being has some sort of 6th sense. I like to call it the "stare alert". Here are some interesting example questions...

Were you ever busy doing something, then look up and lock eyes with a stranger, before quickly looking away?

Ever on the train, minding your business, when suddenly, you glance in some direction and BAMMM, you're eye to eye with another person?

Or how about that uncomfortable feeling when you "feel" like someone is around, or watching you, only for you to later confirm this?

If it happens too often, is it a coincidence?

Personally, I don't believe in psychic powers, and I am not an avid religious person. But there is undeniable evidence suggesting that there are undiscovered abilities which lie in the brain. I bet it's a survival instinct, because "being watched", is like "you're about to be someone's lunch" in the wild.

So it made perfect sense in your question, when you said

"Why is it when you drive down a street anyone who is outside stops what they are doing and watches you pass?"

Key phrase....."stops what they are doing". That's because you either looked at him first, and he sensed it (assuming you don't have a loud *** car engine, LOL). Or he was looking at you from a distance, and you felt compelled to look in his direction, only to be disappointed that this idiot on a ladder may be checking you out. LOL

Maybe they want to make sure they are not on the receiving end of a drive by shooting. Or if you happen to be a shapely female; maybe they are just watching you walk.

I love watching people pass by. Everyone is so different that it makes it entertaining.
