American girl doll hair....?

I'd recommend not washing it with anything because that can easily backfire, especially if the tangles are really hard to get out. I'd suggest that you buy a wire brush from the store that look the the AG ones, or you buy a brush from the AG catalogue or website if you don't already have one and separate a small part of the hair from the rest. Brush gently from the bottom part up to the roots and then go onto the next small part of hair. I know it is time consuming and frustrating, but too much can go wrong when you wash her hair. Like getting water in the eyes will cause them to rust, you can stain her cloth body and really have no way of removing it without just scrubbing which can puncture her, you can drop her in the tub, causing her inside metal parts to rust, too, among other things. But if you have tried the patient piece-by-piece way and nothing works, then you can try washing it. But the doll's hair isn't designed to be washed for the purpose of removing tangles because sometimes that doesn't work and just ruins it more. Also, try misting it with just water, avoiding the eyes. Never, ever use a brush that has been used on human hair on any doll, either. The oils from our heads will get into the doll hair and cause tangles, sirt to be stuck to the hair, among other issues.

also if you go to american girl place there is a hair salon there and you can get her hair fixed, but those are only like in Chicago and New York I believe

but it is hard to get the hair exactly how it was

and you can by a book at the bookstore I think that has tips in it for american girl doll hair

but just try to brush it out and do your best to put up the pig tails before you spend any money on the book

If you want you can wash but be careful not get the wig part wet. You can also take it to the doll hospital. I hope this helped!
