Is it all in my mind? Does she really recognize her fathers voice?

Although I mentioned that she was moving after I ate...I know that's normal...but she does that everytime he comes around...she doesn't show as much interest when other people do the same thing.

Update:

I am currently 38w 2days....I have noticed that since I was about 6 or 7 months pregnant that when my daughter's father comes around my baby kicks more when she hears his voice or when he rubs my belly.

Like take tonight for instance after I ate...I have lay on my back and count the kicks, she wasn't really responding like she was supposed to at first. I was starting to get worried....then he just showed up,out of the clear blue nowhere, kisses my belly and talks to her like he always does and she started kicking and turning from side to side. Does she recognize him already or is this all in my mind?

it sounds like your baby loves her daddy! lol. my mom used to talk to my stomach allllllll the time when i was pregnant with my daughter and she would always respond back to her whenever she heard her! my daughter cant get enough of my mother now lol. i guess they really do establish who they like in the womb. it was also like that with my boyfriend to. whenever he would talk she would move like crazy! its so weird how babies can interact with others even though their still inside of you. but let me tell you my daughter would not move or anything when my bfs mother would try to get her to move wen i was pregnant, and lol, she didnt like her at all when she was first born. took her about 5months to like her and thats only when were around. ironic isnt it. lol

I would think she recognizes the voice of her father. A fetus starts to hear outside noises by 18-20 weeks and if he's been talking around your belly a lot, she probably recognizes his voice more.

  • My baby does the same thing and I am 29-30 weeks. As soon as she hears his voice in the morning, she gets very active with kicking and moving while before hearing his voice, she was still and well sleeping maybe. so I believe babies do recognize their fathers voice.

Lol! It's cute! Some of the books say that yes, the baby can recognize daddy's voice (even if they don't comprehend that it's daddy). My daughter tends to do the same thing...when he is home or close to me she seems to know and seems to be more active then.

A lot of people are going to tell you it's all in your head, but so what if it is? It's fun to think it!

No there has been studies to show that babies can voice recognize in the womb after a certain point... so talk to your baby it will help her recognize you both when she is out !:)

Of course she recognizes her daddy's voice. She recognizes yours too. She hears them every day! She'll recognize them after she's born too. My daughter is two months, and ever since she was born if she heard me or her daddy's voice she would look around to find us.

    yeah definitely!

Especially at this advanced gestational age.. the baby can totally tell who certain people are!

My son moves around and kicks like crazy when my best friend comes around & talks to him.. I swear we always joke that he's going to love her more than me when he comes out lol
