Shark Preparation - From Beach to Dinner Plate?

There has been an over-abundance of sharks here, and catching them is not very difficult.

I've eaten them before, but would like to know the correct way to clean them (especially black-tips), and also how to remove the jaws for trophy.

Basically, the butchering technique. I'm aware that somewhere in the back area is supposed to be a urine channel that must be located and removed quickly, or the meat will become spoiled.

Any experts out there?

Have you tried cleaning the shark like any other fish?

Suggest you fillet the meat from the bones and ten peel the skin off. You can sharpen a machete to use as a fillet knife for this job. Prepare like any large fish steak.

Removing jaws, carefully feel the separation between the jaw and the fleshy part around the jaw, with very shape knife picture the skin and cut around the jaw area. Be care-full not to cut yourself on the teeth.

You can clean by burying jaw near an ant nest, in a few days jaw should be cleaned.
