My Sims 3 family isn't there?!?

I got a new computer the other day, and I got Sims 3 and all on it all right. I got my saved file from my other computer on here so I didn't have to start all over again. But the last few times I have been trying to play it, it would exit itself without me doing anything. Nothing would freeze, it would just stop playing. So, I tried again but saved a lot so I wouldn't lose too much of what I had done. I was trying to save when it said there was an error, number 13, and I should go look it up in the ReadMe files, then quit itself again. But when I tried to get back to my game, my whole family was gone! HOW do I get this back? I have done so much on my Sims, and I don't want to lose it all. Please, does someone know how to get this back?
