ipod frozen need help please?

i have a pink ipod nano the old one with small screen.i had ity for two yers now and the warranty is over so i can get a new one.so i was playing dirty little secrest yesterday and i dropped it on my bed with the earplugs still in and went out.but i always do that.now when i come home its comepletely frozen.the screen is not moving and neither is the pad tgeing.i use a ihome to charge it but when i put it to charge it wouldnt charge and the screeen stayed on all night.i have no idea what wrong with it.so i attached it to my laptop like i always do and tried to get it so i could restore it with itunes but it wouldnt register on itunes and it was still frozen.any ideas.any halp.itll be very apprechiated.thanks so much.
