Any advice on how me and my band should get a good start?

Yah, im a singer and was in a band. Start calling up coffee shops, local bars and venues. You may end up getting lucky and finding a well known producer who will produce a cd for you...it happened to me. Try finding contests and places record labels scout. I know theres a lot of places here in Cali. Also, make a folder...put your bio on the right inside and on the left inside put a demo cd of about 3-5 songs. The front should be a picture of the band.

wow thats amazing being in a band sounds like a lot of fun. well a few of my friends who are in a band who don't really want to do it for the money cause they have jobs and are going to school choose to record there band on youtube covering and making songs. they get rated and subscribers its kinda fun for them. you can do that or you can sign up to be a performance at festivals or try to play in local coffee shops. hope this helped "even though there arn't as many bands as there were back in the 80's its still hard to play in public"

basically make optimistic that there is appreciate between ALL band contributors and you all have the comparable purpose & concentration for the direction of the band. remember, even the better of buddies in a band (which carries siblings) have disagreemants and combat (at times even bodily combating!) via fact no longer anyone concurs on particular factors of band music or enterprise that convey approximately undesirable blood. in case you are able to recover from those issues and forgive and overlook, you have have been given a great commence contained in the enterprise.

definitely think about recording your music and getting your name known as much as possible. Sounds like ur band is pretty committed to your songs and that you have a good starting point.

Also a myspace or purevolume.com page would be useful. Also play local and area shows.

use myspace music. a lot of upcoming bands get famous thru myspace because of the sheer # of people, your bound to get lots and lots of fans. hope i helped ^^
