Poured motor oil into where I checked oil? VW Beetle?

I have a 2004 VW Beetle. Yesterday, I thought my oil was low so I poured 2 bottles into where I checked the oil. Today, I was told that that was the wrong place to pour oil. I was supposed to pour it into another valve. Will this damage my car in any way?? Advice on what to do now? Thanks.

No, it just took you a whole lot longer than needed trying to put it through that little bitty hole. As long as it really was low and you didn't overfill it, it will be okay.

It's not a slow oil leak; it's burning the oil. I have a 00 Jetta, and I used all kind of oil on it, and it still burns. I notice that when I used the Mobil fully synthetic 15w-30 it burns slower. According to other Jetta owners, it's a faculty piston ring, which will require a engine overhaul, that's why VW did not issue a recall on it.

I wouldn't think oil could readily fill the crankcase from that small opening.

As to whether the oil reached the right place, what does your dipstick say? Is the engine now topped off with oil?

if it was 2 bottles (assuming quarts) that is very low might wanna get it looked at for leaks ect and have a mechanic double check that you put it in the correct place
