Office Live Small Business from Microsoft can get you online fast. Although it sounds business-oriented, you don't have to have a full fledged business to use the service.

You could make several pages on your site, one for each type of writing you wish to show, as well as contact info so that people can reach you.

The service is template based so you can easily switch out your writing clips with just a few clicks, instead of having to re-code an entire page.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

The best place i have found to start out a free website is http://www.webstarts.com/?aff=loadedmower7.

This site will help you be on your way to do whatever you please with it. Webstart offers a great range of tools you can use to better enhance the looks, sounds, and overall appearance of your new website. The tools are extremely easy to use and have many extra gadgets to make your webpage even more unique.

While you can start your own website for free, upgrading to Webstart pro can be more beneficial if you are looking to further enhance your website and the traffic it receives. Webstart also offers free hosting and you get your very own Webstart address!

Hope this helps and good luck with building your website!

Wordpress is sooooo easy to use - it's primarly aimed at bloggers, but it also enables you to put up "articles", i.e just straight text web pages, which by the sounds of it would suit you nicely. No coding is required, the site is hosted on the Wordpress servers so you don't really have to do anything except choose a theme and then start writing. And you get a whole big load of tools to help you manage your site.

    And it's all freeeeeee!!!!!

BTW here's mine, hosted on Wordpress.com....

building a real website with .com or your domain name

is like having a physical store

3 steps you need to complete

    1. find a physical store (find a server/virtual host)

you may rent or do it by yourself or buy it

Rent-means you need "virtual host" (search engine can help you)

Do it by yourself - find a computer and set it as a server

    2. put your commodities in your physical store (uploading your contents to server)

Web contents are placed to the server(photos or texts)

any function you need can install in this stage

    3. name your physical store (domain name setting like www.tsmmc.com)

let visitors can link to your website by setting DNS server

you may set such server by yourself

try outsourcing of it - you will save a lot of time

Try using a free web builder at:

    http://www.webs.com/

    or

    http://www.weebly.com/

    http://www.piczo.com/

(see which one suits your needs)

and your address will be something like youraddress.webs.com or youraddress.weebly.com, unless if you have your own domain.

    Hope this helps :)
