Should Yahoo restore the thumbs down for questions?
It seems when Yahoo eliminated the thumbs down, thumbs up for questions and substituted the reporting system along with the stars, they left themselves open for all kinds of abuses and problems. My solution, bring back the thumbs down for questions. When a question gets at least 10 thumbs down and no thumbs up, this will indicate the general dissatisfaction of the community and the question will be removed without the necessity of having it reported.

I think that is a terrific idea!
THe only problem I see is that a true question might be deleted because the person was being trolled. I am not sure what the answer there is - perhaps a "cost" to thumbs down a question?
I think Community Moderation is great in theory, but my frustration comes with having no true feedback as to the validity of my reports. If I report something incorrectly, how do I know? Here, too, I would like to ses a cost to report, with points returned when the violation is upheld and kept if the violation is overturned.
But...I guess that is why I am here, and not runnng Yahoo! Answers...
EDIT: VVVV Great idea...both!

I whole-heartedly agree that the TU/TD needs to be re-established for questions! I also doubt that it will eliminate abuse. If you consider how badly TD's are abused now, I wouldn't want them to be the basis of removal.
Some questions need to be removed immediately -- like ones that give detailed descriptions of perversion or easy ways to kill people. Waiting for 10 TD's would take way too long, and rely on more people (and children) being exposed to the question.
So, in my opinion, there should be both, just as there are for answers. There is no reason questions should be immune from TD's.
