I sleep with head elevated and seems like pot nasal drip accumulates almost into lungs is this possible?

also have COPD,and need to know if I can prevent this from happening. Any home remedy's that might help?

Update:

I'm also on oxygen 24/7 and use a nasal cannula. Any advice would be appreciated. I can't use any answer that can't help with the question.

Thanx!!

I have asthma and my married daughter, really bad, she's worse then me. We both go through periods throughout the year when we have outbreaks from one thing or the other that causes us to sleep in easy chairs upright to be able to sleep. It's hard and we get little sleep but to lay is almost impossible during these times. I have never had a problem with this draining into my lungs although I have a touch of emphysema and asbestosis. The doctor monitors me constantly during these episodes. I'm not saying it can't happen, it just hasn't for us and I know of no one that it has happen to.
