Yes, you are protected against pregnancy as long as you receive your injections precisely on schedule every three months.
I know this is going to be annoying to hear, but make sure your boyfriend has not had unprotected sex with anyone else. If he has, it's a good idea for him to be tested for STI's. Quite often, many STI's are asymptomatic, so an infected person will not know he/she is infected.
The same goes for you. If you've had unprotected sex with anyone else, you should be tested as well.
Good luck, be safe, and enjoy.
Just so you know, J.J's answer was not accurate. The depo-provera injection is one of the most highly effective methods available. Effectiveness is 99.9%.

Lol, yes you can. Being on birth control don't mean crap babe. There are sooo many people, a lot that I know that have gotten pregnant using birth control. Including shots. You say you've been on it for a year, that doesn't mean crap either. I'm on birth control and I STILL refuse to have sex without a rubber. When I get married...sure. Right now I'm 20 and getting knocked up is the last thing from my mind.
If you want to feel him ejaculate inside of you...go ahead. It's all up to you. Just MAKE SURE that he's fully worth that big risk thou and that if you get pregnant he's a man enough to amount to being a father.
I hope you make a smart decision. More than likely you won't use a condom thou. LOL

People do it constantly, you will most likely not get pregnant but theres always a tiny chance that you will.
My boyfriends sis has been on it for 2 years having her boyfriend *** inside of her and no baby.

More than likely NO.. But, be sure you both don't have any STD's.. the shot doesn't prevent them
