the only way insurance is gonna provide you with a different, yet similar, phone is if your "old flippy" isnt sold by Verizon anymore. If your looking for insurance to provide you with something extravagant, like a touch ot dare or omnia or env3... they wont...

call verizon and see if you can upgrade or 'early' upgrade

Actually, if you walk into an official verizon store and I think it just depends on the manager of that store, they may offer you to upgrade your phone. I asked if I could upgrade the phone, but the credit was only $50.

If you don't want to spend alot of money on a phone, you can always pick a used one up on craigslist or ebay cheap. And it honestly just depends which phone you want.

I had insurance, and it really sucks because they only offer up to $50. If you look at it, $50 for a phone doesn't cover anything. My phone was worth $100, and I was offered a $50 credit towards the same phone or towards a new phone. Verizon only gives you $50 bucks for any phone insurance. So, my suggestion drop the insurance, its just not worth the money invested. And if your new phone broke, buy a used one on ebay or craigslist(local). All you have to do is take your sim card out and use the sim card in another phone. Read your instructions or ask verizon customer support on how to remove or find your sim card. Its nothing difficult, to remove and insert into a another phone.

No there isn't. With any phone insurance the cell phone company will always cover you with the exact phone and model that you have. They will not give you a upgrade or a better or different phone. What you need to do is to contact Verizon Wireless Customer Care and tell them that your phone broke and that you have phone insurance on your plan.

Verizon will mail to you the exact phone in a box to you and you will put your broken phone into the box and return it to them. Verizon will include the shipping label so there are no cost to ship the broken phone to them. On your next billing statement you will see a charge of $50.00 for the replacement of your cell phone. This is the deductable amount that is standard fee $50.00 that all cell phone charges for another phone if you have insurance.

All depends how long it pass after you got you phone, Verizon will have to give you a replacement, if the time frame has expired you have the insurance, but they only replaced for the exact phone you have they don't even change the color! the cell phone company like all the rest are a business and the only way you will have a new phone is if you pay for or sign for a new contract for 2 years its a way to continue keeping customers for long periods of time and the phone is the way to attract you. if you completed a year I believe you qualify to up grade with a discount I will suggest to verified with your company
