Because it was my passion from the very start.

I've been in Montessori for 8 years so far. I love it primarily because I love the idea of Montessori with children discovering things. I feel Montessori teachers, being with the kids for 3 years and allowing more freedom in the classroom, get to really know the students much differently than other types of teachers and I love this as well. I love the way the curriculum flows together. I love the flexibility in how to work with difficult students.

I can go on forever. If you have any specific questions about it, please ask again on here (I do a search for "Montessori" almost every day).

I kind of fell into a childcare career, but I am so glad I did. I volunteered to chair the management committee of my daughters playschool, before training and taking over as manager. I bid for funding to expand, and now the little playschool is a full day care nursery in a children's centre. I stood down as manager as I wanted to change direction. I am now a SENCo, NVQ assessor and childcare tutor. I love working with the children, particularly the children with additional needs. I love seeing the progress and working with parents to help them recognise the strengths their children have. I particularly love children learning through play, and lots of opportunities to play outside.
