YouTube will accept your WMM (windows movie maker) video, but not in its PROJECT form. You need to publish the video to your computer before you can upload it to YouTube or burn it to DVD. You cannot convert a WMM file (because it is in project form)... so you don't need a converter.
Once you have your video in WMM and completed the way you'd like to see the final product appear, the next step is to Publish it:
> With your WMM project on the time-line mode
> Click on Tools and Tasks to open the task pane options
> Under Publish to -------
> Click on This computer
> Choose a name for your movie/video and choose a destination to publish it to (I always use the desktop as a destination at first...easier to access. You can always move the video at a later time)
> Click Next
> Choose: Best quality for playback on my computer (recommended)
> Click Publish
Once your video is published to your desktop (or location you chose) you will be able to view it in a media player, upload it, email it or burn it to CD/DVD.
You simply have to remember that a WMM Project has to be published before your it is finalized. I have a Blog that contains postings in regards to Windows Movie Maker tasks/tips/tricks at:

If you forget how to Publish WMM projects or have other questions about the program, bookmark the blog for future reference. All WMM issues are posted under Windows Movie Maker in the Post Categories menu. Check back often as I will be adding more information to it in the coming weeks.
