Why does the Whitehouse consider much of the opposition of their health care plan is based on "myths"?

When it most of the opposition is based on what COULD happen with the health care bill as written.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20090824/sc_li...

Update:

ND... there is no provisions in the bill to prevent Illegal immigrants to get care ( an ammendment to do that was shot down by Democrats) as there is no provision to prevent money for abortions. The "Myths" are possible the way the bill is written.

    A little clarification

So let me get this straight…

This health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it,

passed by a Congress that hasn't read it and whose 20 members will be exempt from it,

signed by a President who smokes,

funded by a Treasury chief who did not pay his taxes,

overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese, and

financed by a Country that is dead broke..

    …what could possibly go wrong?

Are they really myths? If people simply do a little research of other countries that have universal health care they would realize these are not myths...in Europe there were 1000 women that were turned down for breast cancer chemo because it was too expensive and in Canada there has been over 6000 needed surgeries put off because of the expense. Europe is attempting to move away from their health care and Canada's is in shambles. Obama says there won't be rationing of health care and this is simply not true, research the shortage of doctors and nurses in this country and you have no choice but to come to the conclusion there will be rationing, it's simple common sense. Obama says illegal aliens won't be included in this bill and I would say at this point they probably won't be but lets remember what Obama said during a speech he made at the summit in Mexico and few weeks ago, he said, "Before the end of this year there will be an immigration reform bill on the table", so I see that as him saying he intends on handing out amnesty/citizenship cards to illegal aliens which then they will be legal and they will enter the system...you can't inject 40 million people into a medical system that already has huge shortages of doctors and nurses and not end up with rationing of health care. Obama's idea of infrastructuree" is caulking windows and repaving roads when it should be improving the infrastructure of the medical system.

What COULD happen is not as horrible as what DOES happen with the current system. There are more then one bill being considered. Instead of demanding that no Health Reform Bill be created why not focus on demanding changes?

What the for profit Health Care Industry is selling is a false sense of security to those who are healthy and paying them premiums then when the person is sick and needs bills covered the companies refuse to pay the bills. The person who is ill has to fight them in court to receive the service they had been paying for while they were well and now have need of it.

The Industry makes profits decisions at the cost of peoples lives.

My preference would be single payer system which is what is used in France with success or Universal Insurance which is used in Germany. Both of these countrys appear to have already recovered from the recession.

However, a public option is a compromise of choice to avoid disrupting the already established for profit health care system. This would keep the for profit Insurers "in check" and lower costs for every one.

Because all of the defense of their health care plan is based on myths and lies so they figure that the opposition must also be based on myths. The dirty little secret is that people have actually read the bill and know better what is in it than the people who are trying to defend it.

    Read the bill for yourself

You should see the emails I get about this daily. I get everything from death panels to free abortions for all and none of it is true. Anything could happen, but listen to this, none of it will make a bit of difference in 10 years because it has been tried before and failed due to our dependence on the cash generated from insurance companies. They are a good portion of our economy not just as an employer, but they also have a great deal of capital invested in other companies. To remove them from the picture in the short term would be disastrous.

The liberal playbook has always been to treat opponents with disdain

and act as though your opponents lack character or integrity.

If I can attack your character and honesty I do not have to treat your opposition seriously.

Liberals rarely engage in serious debate of the issues and if they treat opposing arguments as silly myths they do not have to respond with facts or serious discussion.

lie deny and lie somemore. that is the way the democrats work. you can read this thing and what it;s saying but they will say you misunderstood. I can read. and you can deny and lie all you want but it is as it is written.you can fool some of the people some of the time but you ca;t fool all the people all the time. and that;s is what barry is not getting through his head. he thinks since the democrats made him out some sort of a god that he really is one.. That is their only answer to factual debate.

    The myth is them.

They cannot say we want Granny to just have a aspirin even though I have heard Obama say weird things along that vein.

No any thing honest they cannot refute is a myth.

because it is. there is so much history of lies distortions an misinformation on that side. this is indisputable. for reference you can look at reagans oppostiton to medicare . he claimed it would result in the destruction of america. . sure you want to look for bad but why not good too. it is also fact that health care costs continue to rise . that we spend more than anybody and have millions uninsured or underinsured. isnt it common sense to see an advantage in a healthier population? if you want to look for the good you can look at the fact that old people love medicare foreign countries love their health systems. ive actually talked to people frrom canada an england , they love it. frankly speaking the idea that the government would be killing people is insulting to the intelligence. i also think it shows a lot more about the people that would think it possible.

Source(s): you also have right talking aheads fomenting violence an revolution how patriotic is that. ?

Most of them are myths. The fact is the republicans have been spreading them, some of them are so ludicrous only a complete idiot would believe them, but some are at least somewhat rational and you repeat it enough people start to believe it. Remember all the weapons of mass destruction Iraq had?
