What is your favorite scientific web site that explains global warming and why?
If you don't have one, don't answer. By scientific web site, I mean a research facility like a government lab, or university.

Our denier friends never seem to read the question. All we get from them are politically-oriented blogs.
Some good sites:

An increase in the average temperature of the Earth. There are two main causes: one is perfectly natural. The Sun sometimes produces more radiation, and this can cause the Earth to warm up. Or cool, if the Sun dims a bit. These are usually very long cycles for major changes, although the "sun spot" cycles is 11 years, so there can be quicker ones. By looking at tree rings of long lived trees, and ice cores, etc., scientists can track these things for a very long time indeed. The other effect is from greenhouse gases, produced by burning, turning oxygen into carbon dioxide. These make the air "thicker" (very non scientific here!), which acts as a blanket, trapping heat in, and making the Earth warmer, bit by bit. The current Global Warming idea is much debated. Most reputable scientists accept that it is happening. However, the role of man is a matter of much more dispute. More scientists than not believe man has had an effect in this, but the amounts, and what do do about it are not agreed upon at all.

I like Greenie Watch and What's Up with That.

These may not be considered 'Scientific" sites, but personally, I like having a more open site. These sites collect data from all over the place. Scientific sites tend to only show their particular data.
I do also like Roy Spencer's site and CO2 science, which can be considered scientific sites.

(From above: "Mine is http://wattsupwiththat.com/%22)
Anthony Watts is an incompetent hack.
For proof, look at his attempt to interpret histogram data in this post of his: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2008/02/28/a-look-at-4-... (scroll down to the histogram discussion).
Folks who have a basic understanding of statistics/data-analysis will howl with laughter at Watts' bumbling attempt to interpret the four temperature histograms.

University of West Virgina

They take the time to do the science and document it unlike the warmers who rely on questionable computer models that do not provide a paper trail of documentation of how their results are achieved.

This depends on what you mean by 'explains global warming'.
If you're interested in how the greenhouse effect works, these two are pretty good:

If you're more interested in the effects and impacts, working group 2 of the IPCC report has more than you could ever want to know.

I like the following:

and http://www.junkscience.com/
Then I also like to track the suns activity
Is that enough?
