Does Employer Like Trucking Company, which has Comp any located in Az. Has to provide Disability Insurance, I?
Have worked for this trucking company for a Year, and was involved in a accident on the freeway coming home from work. Under A doctors care I can not drive a truck, and to file for state disability insurance. Found out my employer does not pay in to SDI, and found out I can not get Ca. Disability. Does my emplorer have to provide a disability coverage, since they do not pay in Ca. State disability?
Please can some one give me the code which covers this for the state of Ca. That I have to have coverage in case I get hurt and can not work.

It sounds like you were not working for your employer at the time of the accident. I don't think that your employer has any liability if that is true.

Are you an employee or independent consultant?
If you an employee, you would have taxes pulled from your check and your employee is responsible for paying CA SDI taxes. If this DID NOT happen, you need to file a claim with the state to see how it is handled.
If you are an independent contractor, the person who pays you is not officially your employer. They do not take any payroll taxes out of your check and they are not responsible for paying SDI. You would be responsible for getting your own short term disability insurance.

Call the CA state insurance department and inquire if employer is required or not. There maybe a provision that if employer has certain number of employees they are required, but if less they are not.
good luck

The only coverage they are required to provide for you, by law, is workers compensation.
