Do you believe torture, for any reason, is wrong?
Why or why not? Just to satisfy my curiosity.

Of course torture is wrong, no matter what the reason is! You might as well ask whether rape is ever justified. Those (like [Move on]) who claim it is OK to torture in certain circumstances have a morally bankrupt point of view of the slippery slope kind.
For example, in the Inspector-General's report one detainee was threatened with having a female relative raped if he did not cooperate. If such threats are acceptable, even if only in certain circumstances, what happens if they are not effective? Is the next stop on the slippery slope to haul the female relative in front of the detainee and threat the rape again?
So what happens if that doesn't work either? Would it then be OK to proceed with an ACTUAL rape, carried out in front of the suspect, in hopes of cracking him?
In other words where does the slippery slope end?

There is only one reason for torture. That is to satisfy sentence when someone you love is also tortured, raped, or killed in violence.
