Christians: Is swearing/cussing/cursing wrong?

As in the 'bad word' swear and not the 'promise' swear..

Or is it just impolite?

And what makes a word a swear word?

One of the Ten Commandments is "Thou shalt not use the name of the Lord thy God in vain." So, using Christ's name in a swearing manner is definitely sinful. The other words we refer to as swear words are very impolite and unacceptable in the Christian community. It is so disturbing to hear those words in the movies, on tv, on school buses, in the schools and most everywhere you look. Kids use the words and probably don't even know what some of those words mean.

I savor your question and understand that those "obnoxious Christians" make the Christan community as an entire seem undesirable. extremely, those "obnoxious Christians" actual be bothered by the satisfaction of "self-righteousness. a real CHRISTIAN might like the soul as a human and take it sluggish to show out to that distinctive soul why their habit or way(s) opposes the word of God. that's a certainty that that's impossible to get all the international's inhabitants (say 6 billion) to agree on the comparable component for any concern. the enormous variety in ideals, adventure, practise, upbringing, existence-style and a lot of different factors impasse this count into the chaos it quite is a significant component to our on an prevalent basis lives. related to your fact "additionally, some 0.33 of the international's inhabitants is Christian. seem at any sturdy source. this implies, shockingly, the different 4 billion every person isn't"... I do discover this to line up in settlement with the bible (a competent source) scripture present in MATTHEW 7:13-14 13 enter ye in on the strait gate: for extensive is the gate, and enormous is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and a lot of THERE BE WHICH bypass in thereat: [Hell] 14 simply by fact strait is the gate, and slender is the way, which leadeth unto existence, and FEW THERE BE THAT discover IT. [Heaven] this isn't a twist of fate... and have self assurance that the genuine question is "WHAT while you're incorrect?"

It just makes you look like an out of control idiot. It's a bad habit. I find curse words are just picked up with out thinking, but you have to consciously break the habit of swearing. Nothing is worse than being in a professional situation and blurting out a few choice words.

Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Phm 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
